Here are my thoughts on tonight’s Tony Awards. Love to hear yours!

Radio City Music Hall: So glad we are back here. Much better place to host the awards. Such a classy place. And bigger enough for a large, appreciative audience!

Neil Patrick Harris: What can I say? He can do no wrong. 4th year doing this. Loved the opening song, Neil.

SMASH meets the Tonys: Brilliant to have Laura Benati, Andrew Rannells, Megan Hilty and NPH sing about the pros and cons of TV vs theatre. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

The Presenters:   I thought it was clever to have various “characters” do presenting and announcing.

All the musical numbers: A Christmas Story,  Pippin, Matilda, Bring It On,  Motown, Annie, Cinderella, Rascals (?), Kinky Boots, Mystery of Edwin Drood made me realize how much I miss being a part of a show. Good times.

Cyndi Lauper: You gotta love her. Congrats girl.

Phantom of the Opera: 25 years. Truly amazing and still going strong. Get well soon Lord Webber.

Can NPH just host the Tonys forever? Thank you, and amen.

Dear Miss Know It All,

I want to go from working full time to working part time, but I love my job. How can I get my boss to let me change my hours? The good news is that I have a significant other that brings in a good income, so making this switch won’t hurt my pocketbook too much. And I have been at my job for over 10 years. I feel like I have a good chance of asking and getting what I want. I guess I’m just nervous about asking.

So it appears the divas of Idol have either resigned (Randy) or quit (Mariah, Nikki) leaving nice guy Keith Urban on his own.

Any thoughts on what Idol will do to revive the sinking ship? The ratings for their finale were the lowest in their 11 year history. Even American Idol tour dates were canceled yesterday. Some are saying that the show will finally get back to basics: focusing on the contestants. that’s a novel thought. Maybe even bring back former winners to be the judges?
