Dear MKIA,

I have finally decided to move to another state where the pace is drastically different and starting my life over. I’m kind of done with the Executive Assistant world. Many of my friends still work in this “world” and some of them are really giving me a hard time  about leaving. I have a job all lined up and I will definitely be living a completely different lifestyle far away from Hollywood. It bothers me that my friends are treating me like a some kind of person who is “lesser than” now that I won’t be working with celebrities. What to do?

Leaving On a Jet Plane

Dear Leaving,

Why do you care what other people think about your decisions? That’s what the real issue is here. Does this move impact any of them in a big way? I doubt it. Also, what type of friend would wish another friend ill will? My guess is that one of two things is happening here. Either they are jealous because they are stuck in a rut and don’t have the guts to do what you are doing, or it’s all about them. Actually, I think it’s definitely all about them…in their minds.
Well, it’s not. It’s all about YOU!
Your true friends will support you and wish you all the best. I suggest you set up Skype dates with those people you care about so you can keep their friendship and support and full hearts close to you on this new adventure.
